Dr. Tarig Elhakim is a hospitalist, or physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Elhakim practices at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He joined the Section in 2022 and currently serves as an Instructor at the Perelman School of Medicine. His interests include clinical research, medical education, patient safety and quality Improvements, global health and diversity, equity and inclusion. Additionally, he speaks Arabic.
Dr. Elhakim earned his medical degree from University of Medical Science and Technology- School of medicine, Khartoum, Sudan. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Kendall Regional Medical Center, Miami, Florida.
