Dr. Todd Hecht is trained in internal medicine as a hospitalist, or a physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Hecht is the Director of the Anticoagulation Management Program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as the Anticoagulation Management Center. He is the Chair of the Anticoagulation Subcommittee to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Co-chair of the Drug Use and Effects Committee (subcommittee to Pharmacy and Therapeutics). Dr. Hecht practices at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Good Shepherd Penn Partners. Dr. Hecht was a founding member of the Section of Hospital Medicine in 1998 and currently serves as a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. His interests focus on anticoagulation, including safe and effective use of prophylactic and therapeutic anticoagulants.
Dr. Hecht earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been inducted into Penn Medicine's Academy of Master Clinicians.
