Dr. Kai Xu is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and a hospitalist at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Good Shepherd Penn Partners Specialty Hospital. His clinical interests include inpatient management of patients with chronic illnesses and transitions of care. Dr. Xu also serves as an Assistant Chief Medical Information Officer for the health system with a special focus on inpatient electronic health record implementation, optimization and clinical workflow.
Prior to joining Penn in 2010, Dr. Xu completed a residency in General Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He graduated from Swarthmore College and earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
