Dr. Ali Yazdanyar is a hospitalist, or physician that specializes in managing the care of patients within the hospital. Dr. Yazdanyar practices at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He joined the Section in 2023 and currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine. His interests include clinical research and patient safety and quality improvements. Additionally, he speaks Farsi.
Dr. Yazdanyar earned his medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Reading Hospital. He has received a Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics from the University of Delaware, and a Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He was a fellow in General Internal Medicine at the School of Medicine and a Post-Doctoral Scholar in Epidemiology at the Graduate School of Public Health both at the University of Pittsburgh.
